Velikkakathu Sankaran Achuthanandan (Malayalam : വേലിക്കകത്ത് ശങ്കരൻ അച്യുതാനന്ദൻ) (born 20 October 1923) is an Indian politician who was Chief Minister of Kerala from 2006 to 2011. He was one of the founding leaders (and also the last surviving) of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and has played a major role in building the party cadre in the state of Kerala.
